NBA AFRICA Triple Double Accelerator Program 2024

NBA Africa’s Triple Double Accelerator program aims to support African startups and the African tech ecosystem and African tech entrepreneurs by promoting growth in the sports and creative industries. Through this program, participating startups will have access to mentorship and capital to accelerate their growth and help drive the growth of African economies.

The Triple Double Accelerator is seeking startups whose products and/or services align with the below categories.

• Live Event Experience and Ticketing:  Transforming or enhancing live events through improved ticketing, entry, or in-arena or in-stadium experience.
• Digital Fan Platforms and Connectivity: Creating new, innovative ways to collect fan data, translate data into targeted offerings for fans, and create digital hubs for fans to connect.
• AI for Consumers: Designing new products for fans that leverage AI, such as dubbing content in local languages, creating an NBA chatbot, etc.
• Investing in Youth: Creating tools to promote life skills, positive habits, and other programs for a highly digitally – connected African youth population.
• Other Sports and Creative Startups:  Innovating and disrupting any sector within the sports, entertainment and creative industries.

Prize

• 1st Place: $50,000 in cash accompanied by $50,000 in value-in-kind
• 2nd Place: $40,000 in cash accompanied by $40,000 in value-in-kind
• 3rd Place:$30,000 in cash accompanied by $30,000 in value-in-kind
• 4th Place:$20,000 in cash accompanied by $20,000 in value-in-kind

Eligibility of Triple Double Accelerator Program

• Operations headquartered in Africa
• Product alignment with one of the five Sports and Creative startup categories
• Proven demand for product and/or service through strong customer base and/or revenue
• Demonstrable impact and/or relevancy to the broader African continent

Application for Triple Double Accelerator Program

• Founders must complete the online application (roughly 60 mins to complete).
• Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage applying as early as possible.
